Peter is a graduate of AUT with 26 years of experience in New Zealand, the UK and Europe. A Professional Member of the Designers Institute of New Zealand, he has been instrumental in the design and development of a number of successful brands and communications for a wide range of New Zealand and overseas companies.
Involved with both Elam and AUT as an external evaluator and speaker, he has been a graphic design judge for the NZ Best Design Awards.
Peter is a member of the Better by Design, Design 360 assessment team, an NZTE initiative aimed at improving New Zealand's export revenue by applying design thinking.
A founding Partner in pHd3, Peter has won numerous New Zealand and overseas design awards in recognition of his work.
Bella earned her BFA in Film & Graphic Design from the University of Canterbury. She began her career working as a graphic designer with PeterHaythornthwaiteDesign in 1994.
Her experience combines a strong graphics background with a passion for environmental graphic design. Bella has won numerous national and international awards, including New Zealand Young Designer of the Year, a Stringer (best of category, NZ Best Design Awards) SEGD award (USA). Her philosophy; educate, stimulate, captivate and entertain.
A founding Partner of pHd3, Bella is a Professional Member of the Designers Institute of New Zealand and SEGD, USA (The Society of Environmental Graphic Design). Bella has also been a graphic design judge for the NZ Best Design Awards.
A graduate of Wellington Polytechnic School of Design, Jim has 27 years of experience, and is a Professional Member of the Designers Institute of New Zealand. Jim has also been a product design judge for the NZ Best Design Awards.
Jim has been a member of the Better by Design, Design 360 assessment team since 2004, an NZTE initiative aimed at using design as a business strategy to improve New Zealand's export revenue.
A founding Partner in pHd3, Jim has been involved in a wide range of product design projects for clients in New Zealand and offshore.
David's role at pHd3 is primarily one of support to the design process.
Establishing his career as a print production artist, David is also an experienced web developer, 3D illustrator and CG animation lighting designer. Complementing the team of designers at pHd3, David adds further specialist capabilities.
Cameron graduated with a Bachelor of Design from Unitec Institute of Technology, majoring in Product Design. In his second year studying he was awarded a 'Highly Commended' in New Zealand's Best Design Awards.
Cameron has been with pHd3 for over 6 years in his role as product designer. Cameron has also been recognised in the internationally renowned 'Logo Lounge' book series for graphic design.
After completing a Certificate of Art & Design, and a Diploma of Computer Graphics in Auckland, Karl gained experience with a leading design and communications company in London.
Karl has worked on branding and identity projects for top international and global brands alongside leaders in the design industry.
Returning to New Zealand, Karl brings experience and enthusiasm to the design studio at pHd3.
Rachael is responsible for the smooth day to day running of pHd3, including accounting tasks.
Rachael also works closely with the directors to meet the company's HR and organisational needs.
With an interest in design, Rachael enjoys being an integral part of a creative environment.
